Dr. Cleves is a Professor and Biostatistics Section Chief in the Department of Pediatrics at UAMS, and serves as a Director of Biostatistics at Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center. Dr. Cleves received his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and completed his postdoctoral training in Statistical Genetics at Case Western University. He joined the UAMS Department of Pediatrics in 2000 and ACNC in 2011. His current research interests focus on the effects of early nutrition on normal child development and the effects of macronutrients on obesity, bone and body composition. Dr. Cleves is also involved in the assessment of genetic and environmental causes of major structural congenital malformations and in the identification of acute and prodromal myocardial infarction symptoms among women.
